A ROAD in Barassie was closed this morning after a bus left new traffic lights damaged.

The RTC, involving just the one vehicle, occurred at around 8.45am this morning on Kilmarnock Road in area.

It is believed that the vehicle was turning from the A759 on to the long stretch of road into Barassie.

Police Scotland confirmed they were called to the incident just before 9am after the accident occurred during the morning rush.

However, thankfully, cops confirmed that there are no reports of any injuries.

The road was shut off for the majority of the morning and reopened shortly before noon.

It is also unknown if the vehicle was a public service bus or a school bus.

The new traffic lights at the junction between Kilmarnock Road and the A759 have only been in operation for a matter of weeks.

Installation works began at the start of the year on the project.
