CHILDREN at St Patrick’s Primary in Troon leapt off the page as they celebrated World Book Day.
Bringing their favourite characters to life, pupils and staff all got involved in the fun day of activities that were arranged.
Each child was thrilled to go to nearby WH Smith in Troon to use up their book tokens to add to their collection.
That came after a mass read-a-thon where everyone got stuck into their chosen book to read.
World Book Day is all about encouraging more youngsters to read the many wonderful books, both modern day and classics from the likes of Roald Dahl and JK Rowling’s epic Harry Potter series.
And it is also about dressing up as the wide array of colourful characters that can be found from books.
The youngsters were very inventive with costumes, with various characters on display.
From Alice and Wonderland, Mary Poppins to Wizards of Hogwarts, the children really made an effort on the day.
