Shops are selling out of anti-bacterial hand gel and wipes as buyers clear shelves amid virus panic.
Both Savers branches in Troon and Prestwick sold out of sanitiser yesterday (Monday, February 2).
People are stockpiling the products as coronavirus spreads around the UK, with the number of confirmed cases rising to 39.
The Troon store received a small delivery of anti-bacterial hand gel this morning, while the one on Prestwick Main Street has none left amid reports that the stock which arrived on Monday sold out by lunchtime.
The first positive case of the virus in Scotland was confirmed at the weekend in Tayside.
As of yesterday, a total of 815 tests were confirmed negative in Scotland.
People are urged to follow the latest health and travel advice, and follow basic hygiene precautions, such as washing hands frequently, not touching their face and covering their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
Typical symptoms of the COVID-19 virus include fever, a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
The government is urging people to use soap and water to wash their hands and sing Happy Birthday twice to meausure 20 seconds.
