ALLOWAY Burns Club celebrated the Bard’s birthday at a special event.

They staged a Burns Supper - their biggest event of the year - in the Brig o’Doon House Hotel.

Delivering the Immortal Memory was Jimmy Gibson, while the Toast to the Lassies was proposed by Dr David Hume.

Providing the Reply was Jean Hillhouse.

Supplying the Recitation was Stuart McKinlay.

Alloway Burns Club have always had a varied programme throughout the year.

Annual highlights include the Friendship Evening – a commemoration of the first ever ‘Burns Supper, held by held by a group of Burns’ friends and admirers in 1801 to remember the anniversary of the Bard’s untimely death five years earlier.
