RESIDENTS across South and East Ayrshire have been impacted by a powercut.
Homes in the KA5 and KA6 areas have been hit with Scottish Power engineers working to restore supplies.
The area affected covers between the village of Coylton outside Ayr and Sorn near Mauchline affecting 700 households.
The loss of power is the result of an overhead fault due to the adverse weather - with strong winds forecast for the rest of today.
Scottish Power confirmed to the Advertiser that 700 homes were initially impacted, but 600 were quickly rectifiyed.
There is currently just under 100 homes without power.
Scottish Power announced the issue around 2.20pm today.
