TRIBUTES were paid to the wife of the Bard at a special seasonal event held in Troon’s Lochgreen House Hotel.

The Rotary Club of Troon held their annual Jean Armour Lunch on Monday of last week.

Jean Armour is a key figure in the story of Robert Burns and inspired some of his best poetry.

Guest speaker was Tracy Harvey. There was a piper on the day and a Burns Lunch was served. Proceeds from the event went to End Polio Now. Rotary globally are giving $50 million in grants to support the global effort to end polio. The funding will provide surveillance, technical assistance, and operational support for immunisation activities, and will reach up to 38.4 million children with polio immunisations.
