AYR residents have been urged to come and 'Ayr' their views on new proposals for the riverside public space on the High Street.

South Ayrshire Council have invited people to go along to discuss emerging design ideas to transform the slot which is lying empty.

The public consultation on Wednesday, January 29 will be the second event for the project following an ideas workshop in November which was attended by over 200 members of the public.

As a direct response to the feedback received, initial design proposals have been developed for the space situated on the vacant High Street site, adjacent to the River Ayr and Town Hall.

The free, drop-in event will take place on Wednesday, January 29, between 1pm and 7.30pm, at The Grain Exchange, 77-81 High Street.

Residents will be able to view short 15 minute presentations from the project team to explain their outline design proposals, culminating in an open discussion and Q&A.

These talks will take place at 1.30pm and 6pm respectively.

A spokesperson for South Ayrshire Council said: "This is your opportunity to shape developing proposals for this highly significant space within Ayr town centre with your feedback feeding directly into the emerging proposals."
