A manipulative former Cumnock primary school teacher is facing a lengthy jail term after pleading guilty to having a sexual relationship with a young girl he groomed on Facebook a decade ago.

Stuart Scott, 33, targeted the 13-year-old after meeting her through the youth football team he coached in the town.

Scott, who was 23 at the time, claimed he would leave his wife for the youngster, telling the teenager that he loved her.

But he was actually abusing two other girls at the same time - and was caged over that abuse in 2012.

And it has now emerged he was stringing this other girl along, sexually abusing her on a regular basis.

He contacted her through Facebook and arranged to take her out in his car.

He stopped his car in a secluded country lane and they had sex and performed sex acts on each other.

They also sent each other intimate pictures and videos and had videos calls where they performed sex acts on themselves.

Scott, of Galston, would contact her after their sessions to give her feedback on how they could improve.

And the twisted teacher managed to keep their relationship a secret - despite being arrested, prosecuted and jailed for abusing other young girls at the same time - by telling his victim to delete all the messages between them and keep their trysts to herself.

The details emerged this week [Wednesday] when Scott appeared in the dock at Ayr Sheriff Court for  pre-trial hearing.

He pleaded guilty to six charges, in exchange for seven others being dropped by prosecutors.

Procurator Fiscal Depute Karen McGregor said Scott, who worked as a primary school teacher at the time, had met the girl as she was the sister of a boy he coached at a youth football team in Cumnock, Ayrshire.

The prosecutor explained: "On May 11, 2010, she received a friend request on Facebook and almost immediately he sent a private message saying, 'hey'.

"There was just a series of general messages but he started putting kisses at the end of his messages, so she did the same.

"He stated she was, 'braw' and asked her if she wanted to accompany him in a drive in his car and she agreed to."

Scott picked her up and drove to a secluded lay by where he told her she was good looking and asked to kiss her - and she agreed.

They then performed sex acts on each in the front of the car before moving to the rear of the vehicle where they had sex - before he dropped her off.

Their relationship continued until 2012, with them regularly meeting up to have sex, and he would also get her to send him pictures and videos of her performing sex acts on herself.

Mrs McGregor added: "He would respond, telling her what to do to make them better.

"They would also video call each other.

"She was asked how she felt during these video calls and said she felt embarrassed but did it as she wanted to please him as he made he feel grown up - and was worried that, if she didn't, he'd leave her for someone else.

"He stated he was going to leave his girlfriend, now ex-wife, and stated he loved her and wanted to tell people that once she turned 18."

The court also heard he was friendly with her mum and tried to get her to give him her daughter's birth certificate so he could forge a copy - making her seem younger, and therefore able to play for the girls football team he was coaching at the time.

He managed to convince her to delete everything and keep their relationship a secret and, in 2012, he was caged over similar offences towards other young girls, aged 12 and 13.

But after being released from prison he got back in contact with her and they rekindled their relationship, regularly meeting up in his car and kissing, with him saying he wanted to be with her.

She later told her mother, and her mother's friend, that she had been in a relationship with Scott for three years from the age of 13, and the matter was reported to police, leading to the prosecution against him.

Sheriff Desmond Leslie placed Scott on the Sex Offenders' Register, called for background reports to be prepared, and a risk assessment to be carried out, ahead of sentencing.

He then remanded Scott in custody until next month's court hearing, and he could be caged for up to five-and-a-half years for the offences.
