POLICE are still hunting two crooks who broke into Ayr Rugby's Milbrae base in an attempted to raid the bar.

A man and a woman entered the clubhouse early on Saturday morning through a window upstairs and switched the power off at the ground - cutting out the CCTV.

But the club’s security system kicked in and the break-in alarm sounded deterring the pair from going further.

A pair of keys were taken from the bar area leaving the club a cost of changing locks to prevent a further attempt on the venue.

Police made a swift response getting to the home of Ayrshire Bulls shortly after the two suspects fled.

Officers have launched an investigation and are working with Ayr Rugby to identify the male and female after they were caught on the CCTV, before the power was cut.

The club shared images of the crooks. The male can be seen wearing a hooded jacket and tracksuit bottoms, whilst the female is also seen with her hood up.

A club statement said: “Around 4am on Saturday January 4, Ayr Rugby Club, Millbrae, Alloway was broken into by these two individuals triggering our alarm and CCTV system.
