Congratulations are in order for a Beith resident who has become a centenarian.

Joan MacLaren, who goes by Ronnie, celebrated the special milestone with family.

Ronnie marked her birthday on Monday, January 13, surrounded by her family at Speirs Care Home in Beith.

Alison Ravandi, home manager, said: “It was lovely to see Ronnie so happy on her 100th birthday and we were delighted to be joined by some of her family for the celebrations.

“They all sat in the Melrose lounge and they had brought some drinks and nibbles to help mark this wonderful occasion.

“Then Ronnie’s fellow residents and friends came in and everyone enjoyed entertainment by Agnes and Ian from Music Box who had us all up dancing.

“Thank you to Evelyn McCann, Deputy Lieutenant, who attended Ronnie’s party and presented her with her telegram from the Queen and also to Barbara from Spiers catering team who made Ronnie a fantastic cake. A great time was had by all.”
