AN Ayr-based opticians has passed a customer satisfaction survey with flying colours.

In fact, 20 20 Opticians and Hearing Acre came out on TOP – scoring above the national average for its services.

The local South Ayrshire branch on Dalblair Road in the town – which was recently taken over from Black and Lizar’s – achieved a net promoter score of 82, based on a scale of -1 to 100.

This score is a customer satisfaction metric that determines how well a company treats its customers and the likelihood of the company receiving a recommendation to a friend.

Fiona Conkie, practice manager, has worked with the eye and hearing specialists for 17 years.

She believes it is the expert knowledge and friendly faces that results in patients referring the business.

She said: “As a busy practice in Ayr, we’re really proud to have retained a high proportion of our staff and offer returning patients the same friendly faces in our waiting area and examination rooms, that they have become used to and comfortable with.”

The store team, part of the Duncan and Rodd Group, has over 130 years combined experience in optics – something which is vital to their success.

Fiona added: “Our team of experienced optometrists includes optometrist Sarah Muir who joined in the summer.

“Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge including complex contact lenses and is accredited in diabetic screening.

“Another addition to the optometrist team is Robyn Kerr.

“Robyn has a particular interest in the detection and management of macular degeneration.”

As well as the impressive customer service the branch offers, the practice also prides itself in using up-to-date technology by leading the way in innovative eye examinations.

This includes the use of an optical coherence tomography (OCT) machine and optomap imaging.

The technology helps to view the health of your eyes in greater detail, by allowing them to see what’s going on beneath the surface.
