Police have carried out a major drugs bust and arrested two men.

Over a thousand cannabis plants were discovered in the raid.

Class B drugs with an estimated street value of £1million were recovered by officers.

Around 10.30am on Friday, December 13, local police executed a search warrant at a farm in the Moscow area of Galston where they seized approximately 1,500 cannabis plants.

Two men, aged 28 and 29, have been arrested and charged and are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, December 16.

Detective Inspector Ross Black, of Kilmarnock CID, said: “This was a significant recovery of illegal drugs within the local area and I would like to thank those who provided vital information during our investigation.

“The selling and distribution of drugs will not be tolerated and we will act on all intelligence we receive. I would urge anyone who has information about the sale or production of drugs to get in contact with police."
