A MAN has been taken to hospital after a serious assault in Maybole.
A 64-year-old man was treated for serious injuries, and was rushed to Ayr hospital following the attack in Whitehall Court on Wednesday.
He was then transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his conditon is described as stable.
Police have launched a probe into the incident and have appealed for any witnesses.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Advertiser: “Officers were called 6.45pm on Wednesday, 11 December, 2019 to reports of a serious assault in Whitehall Court.
“A 64-year-old man was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment to serious injuries, he was then transferred to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he remains in a stable condition.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone who may have seen anything in the area around 6.45pm yesterday or has any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2975 of Wednesday, 11 December.”
