POLICE have launched an appeal after a pensioner was hit by car in Ayr.
A 66-year-old woman was injured after she as struck by a blue Vauxhall Mokka on the A79 at Station Road, near its junction with Mill Street on Thursday.
Emergency services attended and the lady was taken to Ayr Hospital.
The driver of the car was uninjured but left badly shaken by the incident.
The road was closed to allow crash scene investigation to take place and enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances.
Sergeant Kevin Blackley said: “I am appealing to people who were in the area around the time of the crash to contact us. In particular, if you have a dash cam, please check your footage as it could have captured footage which could assist us in our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Road Policing Officers at Irvine Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 2399 of Thursday, 5 December, 2019.
