A SNAKE who is currently living in Ayrshire has been named a national charity’s pet of the week.

Bertie, pictured right, has been awarded the SPCA’s pet of the week having overcome the trauma of being abandoned at a property when he was younger.

He came into the care of the Scottish organisation and has been looked after since.

An SPCA statement said: “He has been well handled previously and enjoys coming out of his vivarium to have a nosey.

“Can you offer Bertie his forever home?

“If you think you could give Bertie the home, contact the Ayrshire and South West Scotland centre for more information.”

Those interested should call 03000999999.

The SPCA help to rehome animals six days a week, from dogs to rabbits.
