CULZEAN Castle and Country Park looks pretty magical most of the year round nestled along the South Ayrshire coast.

However, this festive period, it will be transformed into a magical sight to behold as it is turned into a Christmas setting from the Victorian age.

This weekend, on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 of December and next weekend on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, visitors will be able to step back in time to explore the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas as if it was all those years ago.

The castle, which is protected by the National Trust for Scotland, will recreate Christmas Eve 1879 as visitors meet the castle’s aristocratic family and hard-working staff as they prepare for Christmas Day in the fun seasonal event.

Guests can find out how the house prepared for the big day, from the chimney sweeps, chamber maids and cooks labouring hard.

Santa will also be on hand both weekend from 11am until 4pm with his sack full of gifts.

Over at the Ranger Hub, 1.30pm - 3.30pm each day there will also be free Victorian Christmas Craft session to make decorations.
