The spectacular Saltcoats Christmas lights switch-on at the weekend got the festive season jump-started.

Organisers, Saltcoats Community Carnival Group, lined up a great selection of festive fun for Sunday, November 24.

The big switch-on featured a very special guest — Santa Claus.

Kids visited Santa’s Grotto to receive gifts and the fairground offered thrilling rides.

Variety shows, courtesy of the Little and Large events team, had performances from the Grinch, Elsa and Anna from Frozen and more, with special guest The Keepy Uppy King.

Three Town’s crooner Murray Gee Mac also enchanted audiences with his latest tune, accompanied by more than 150 line dancers.

To top it all off, Saltcoats Masonic Hall hosted a mobile cinema with real reindeer.
