MORE than 3,000 people flocked to the fifth annual Pumpkin Trail at Fullarton Woods last weekend, writes Stewart McConnell.
The Halloween-themed event saw people dress up in seasonal outfits and enjoyed seeing a trail of pumpkins donated by the public and other attractions including a spooky graveyard. the witch Mildred and Fairy Flutter.
Organiser Donna Read said: “We had 2,000 people on Sunday afternoon and 1,500 on Saturday.
“The park and ride at Marr College was successful.
“People came from Troon, East Kilbride, North Ayrshire and East Ayrshire.”
Mary Elizabeth Prentice-Hyers took her sons, Findlay and Angus along
She said: “It was great to see the pumpkins.”
Findlay said: “I enjoyed seeing a pumpkin with sticking out teeth.”
Stephen Ferguson brought sons James Jack and James and niece and nephew. He said: “My niece Lucy enjoyed hearing some stories from Matilda the witch.”
