THE Auld Kirk of Ayr is open to visitors every Tuesday between 1-2pm until the end of November.
It was built in 1654 after Cromwell’s forces requisitioned the town’s medieval church.
It seats 900 people and has a timber interior with three lofts, and fine traditional and modern stained glass.
Access is through the lych gate at the top of Kirkport off High St or from Mill St/River Walk.
