A TROON mum was shocked to find her car had been badly scraped after she returned from a family outing.

Elizabeth MacKay had parked on Portland Street before going out for dinner at a nearby Tapas restaurant, but she was alarmed to find that the paintwork on her red Nissan Duke had been chipped off.

She told the Advertiser: “My daughter is over from New Zealand so we went out. It wasn’t until the next day that I noticed it, but it was in the garage overnight, so nothing could have happened.

“There is no dent in it. It looks like a reverse park. It’s just the paint that is scrapped, with two of the bits that is actually down at the metal. “Some of the drivers in Troon are shocking. It’s just bad luck . People just be more aware of what they are doing.”

Elizabeth reported the incident to the police who are currently investigating.
