A NEW Breakfast Club at Hayocks Hall in Stevenston was officially opened by North Ayrshire Provost Ian Clarkson on Saturday.

The club, which will be run by Stevenston North Community Association after a successful funding bid through North Ayrshire Council’s Fairer Food Participatory Budgeting event, will meet each Saturday from 10am to 12pm.

Members of the community are invited to go along and enjoy free cereal, a hot roll and tea or coffee.

Provost Clarkson said: “It was lovely to see such a good turnout for the launch event.

“I was really impressed by the efforts of local member John Sweeney and all of the hard-working volunteers at the Community Centre.

“The Breakfast Club is not only an opportunity for residents to enjoy a delicious, free breakfast each Saturday, but also to meet other members of the community, catch up with friends and find out more about what’s happening in Stevenston.”

The launch event took place during Challenge Poverty Week.
