PEOPLE from across the Troon community turned out in huge numbers for an an annual coffee morning which helps support a school in North Eastern India.
The Friends of Kalimpong staged the event in Troon Old Parish Church and regulars and casual passers-by turned out to support it. An impressive £481 was raised to help support Dr Graham’s Homes in Kalimpong in the foothills of the Himalayas, a day and boarding school for 1500 students. It will be used to help pay for their education. Main attractions included a baking stall, bric-a-brac, book stall, tombola, jewellery stall and also Helen Thomson’s Hats.
Organiser Aileen Fraser said: “The event went really well and there was a good turnout as it was good weather. We raised more than last year and I’m delighted.”
