BARASSIE residents and visitors wanting to spend a penny have been dealt yet another major setback.
Work on the toilets began in February and was expected to be open before the end of the Summer.
However there is still no opening date for the long-awaited facility,
Councillor Peter Convery said at Troon Community Council last Tuesday: “We can’t find the source of water for the project. Every time I go past it I’m embarrassed.”
Community Councillor Dougie Barr said he could guarantee there was bound to be a water main within six feet of the sewer.
However Councillor Bob Pollok said part of the problem was that Scottish Water had failed to turn up on two occasions to sort the problem.
