PLANS are being set in motion to avoid traffic congestion at Troon’s Fireworks display.

The event, run by Troon Round Table, is scheduled for Saturday, November 2 at Barassie Beach and new measures should help ensure a better traffic-flow for those visiting Troon and for locals who wish to drive to see the annual display.

A member of the Round Table told Troon Community Council about the plans which will see 250 parking spaces available on the day.

Organiser Nicky Power said: “There will be 250 free-parking spaces at the ABP Port – the ferry terminal – which is great. It will be busy as we are the only display in Ayrshire so hopefully this will work.

“A letter is also going out to residents of Walker Avenue to say cones will be going up and parking will only be allowed on one side of the road.

“There will also be a police presence on the roundabout at the beach.”
