Saltcoats Swap Shop has had to turn families away due to a lack of donations.
The group, which is run by volunteers, helps struggling families by donating food, toiletries, clothing and cleaning products.
As a result of low supplies, organisers have decided to cancel their annual Halloween party this year. They will instead focus on creating hampers for families in need.
The group posted on their Facebook page: “We are looking for food donations please as we have had to turn away a few families recently for help needing. About eight families have asked for our help recently and for their own reasons are really struggling.
"We have had to apologise and it’s really horrible turning people away when they have already tried other organisations and come to a dead end.
“Please if anyone can help with daily donations, we would be so, so grateful and will be able to help rather than sending people away.”
