MEMBERS of an Ayrshire community sewing bee have donated nearly 100 dresses to children in Africa.
Produced from pillowcases to mark The Prince’s Foundation’s Sustainable September campaign at Dumfries House.
They club completed the task by upcycling pillowcases donated by groups throughout Ayrshire, with the garments dispatched to those in need via charity Little Dresses for Africa.
The contribution has also kicked-off Dumfries Houses’ ‘Sustainable September’ initiative following on from the success of last year’s campaign.
A Prince’s Foundation spokesperson, said: “We’re delighted that our donation will kick off Dumfries House’s Sustainable September initiative, showing, with a little imagination and effort, you can breathe new life into items.”
