AN AGGRESSIVE passenger kicked off on an Ayr train and pulled an emergency alarm cord to bring the service to a halt.
The train had to by-pass all stops between Kilwinning and Ayr leaving airport passengers facing further delays.
Transport cops are now hunting for the disruptive passenger who was on the service heading from Glasgow Central to Ayr this morning.
It is understood that he left the service after stopping the train, after he wanted the express service to stop at Paisley.
The service was scheduled to stop at Kilwinning as the first stop, but the passenger was keen to get off at Paisley Gilmour Street.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Paisley Gilmour Street station at 10.23am today following a report of an aggressive passenger.
"It is believed the passenger pulled the emergency passcom, causing the train to come to a stop, and then left the service.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
ScotRail confirmed that the train did not stop at Irvine, Barassie, Troon Prestwick Aiport or Prestwick Town and the tickets of all passengers affected were valid on the next available journey.
