Reusable cups
AYRSHIRE College is using reusable coffee cups to reduce its plastic waste this year.
Students will be persuaded out of buying polyethylene-lined disposal cups with an incentive of saving 10p on hot drinks when they present their new reusable ones which only cost 60p.
Peter Bacchetti, Catering Services Manager at Ayrshire College, said: “If we can help shift attitudes and behaviours towards reusing, recycling and respecting the plastics that we use, then this should in turn have the sort of positive impact that we wish for on the world that we live.”
