A CAR burst into flames during a terrifying blaze outside a fast food restaurant in Ayr.
The incident which saw the vehicle catch fire out of the blue scared locals in the early hours of Tuesday morning just after 1am.
Nobody was injured in the blaze which took place right outside McDonald's on Whitletts Road in Ayr.
Fire crews attended after receiving reports a fire had started within a car.
They had it extinguished within 20 minutes.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 1.02am on Tuesday, August 20 to reports of a fire within a car on Whitletts Road, Ayr.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, where crews extinguished a small fire within the vehicle’s engine bay.
“There were no reported casualties, and crews left at 1.24am.”
