A WHOLE host of sporting activities were on the agenda at Belmont Academy recently.

Belmont Academy hosted a multi-sport camp for kids across the community.

Some 143 children from across the community attended the event over two days and it gave youngsters an opportunity to go outdoors away from their X-Boxes or PS4s and learn some useful skills as well as the chance to meet other people of their own age.

Leading the camp were sports leaders from both Belmont Academy and Ayr Academy.

They ran different activities and team-building games.

The kids took part in basketball, football, archery, fun games and gymnastics.

The camp was also supported by Ayr Rugby Club and Ayr Footgolf, and was voted a great success by organisers.

Other camps are being held in schools including Ayr Academy, Belmont Academy, Girvan Academy and Marr College throughout the summer holidays.

The camp was run by Active Schools, who hold regular activities during term time and also the holidays for children of all ages.
