PRESTWICK High Street has been shortlisted for a pretigious UK wide award.
The town has made the last 12 and joins two other Scottish towns in the Champion High Street category of the awards.
Prestwick was chosen after a rigrous process led by a panel of independent judges who have recnoginised the UK's best high streets.
And the town was congratulated by Jake Berry MP, who credited Prestfest music festival as a key to bringing success to Prestwick.
Mr Berry said: “Congratulations to Prestwick for being shortlisted for the Champion’s Award for this year’s Great British High Street Awards.
“Great local initiatives like Prestfest music festival - which generated over £350,000 for the local economy last year – have been a recipe for success for this town.
“People are happier when they can see their hard-earned cash support local businesses. That is why we are celebrating those that go above and beyond to keep their high streets thriving for generations to come.”
