THREE men have been arrested and charged over alleged theft and various road traffic offences after a police chase through Maybole yesterday.
Police had received reports of suspicious males entering a hairdressers in the Carrick area.
Cops then spotted the suspects in Maybole, where they fled in a vehicle.
The three men were then traced on farmland outside Maybole, after crashing their vehicle and escaping on foot.
A Police Scotland Air Support unit was drafted in to detect the men.
They were held in custody and are to due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court today.
A police spokesperson for South Ayrshire Police told the Ayr Advertiser: “We can confirm that three men have been arrested and charged with theft and various road traffic offences after reports had been received by police of suspicious males entering hairdressing premises around the area.
"Descriptions were circulated and a short time later were spotted by police in Maybole, where they fled in a vehicle and failed to stop for officers.
"All three were later traced on farmland outside Maybole after crashing their vehicle and running off.
"Police Scotland Air Support also assisted in the detection of the men.
"The three are held in custody to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court today”.
