A TRIO of soap stars will complete the line for a celebration of Helen Forrester's 100th Birthday in Rhyl next spring.

The stage adaptation of the Liverpudlian author's autobiography By The Waters of Liverpool will be hitting the Pavilion for five nights in the first leg of its 2020 UK tour.

The production follows the smash-hit success of Forrester's Twopence To Cross The Mersey and will feature Emmerdale star Sian Reeves as Forrester's mother, as well as Hollyoaks actors Parry Glasspool as her brother and Lucy Dixon playing the autor.

Dixon said: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of By The Waters Of Liverpool – and to be playing such a strong female role. I am particularly excited for my family to watch me following in Helen’s footsteps, a story they have read and know well themselves. Liverpool has always felt like home to me, even more so now I live there, and I am so excited to welcome people of all ages to this heart-felt story."

The soap vets will join two other seasoned professionals Coronation Street and Holby City's Mark Moraghan - who will play Helen’s father and previously played ‘Father’ in the 2007 and 2009 adaptations of Twopence To Cross The Mersey - and fellow 'Corrie' and Doctor Who actor Eric potts, who will play Forrester's fiery boss Mr Ellis.

Reeves has already shared a stage with fellow cast member Moraghan when they competed against each other on celebrity TV singing contest, Just The Two Of Us where she took the top spot with opera singer Russell Watson, while Moraghan was runner-up with Atomic Kitten’s Natasha Hamilton.

This stage adaption of the million selling book has been penned by writer and friend of Forrester, Rob Fennah who also adapted Twopence To Cross The Mersey.

By The Waters Of Liverpool is a period drama set in the 1930s. The story opens in 1935. Helen Forrester is 16-years-old, and fighting a bitter battle with her parents for the right to educate herself and go out to work.
