Drivers are reminded to expect delays next week as resurfacing works are scheduled to take place in East Ayrshire.

Ayrshire Roads Alliance is carrying out resurfacing works on three sections of the A713 Ayr to Dalmellington road.

The A713 Polnessan will be closed from 7am-6pm over the weekends of August 10/11 and 17/18. It will reopen around 12-1pm each day.

The A713 Patna to Waterside will be closed 7pm-6am from Monday, August 12 until Wednesday, August 21.

Diversions will be via A713 to B742 Coylton, A70 through Coalhall, to A76 Dettingen Roundabout, Cumnock to New Cumnock, B741 to Dalmellington, Broomknowe, Gateside Road, before re-joining the A713 and vice versa.

Motorists travelling south on the A713 to the Steam Train events at the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre on Sunday, August 11 and Sunday, August 18 will use this route.

The A713 Carsphairn Road, Dalmellington will remain open under convoy while work takes place from Monday, August 19 until Friday, August 30.

No waiting restrictions will be in place on the A713 on Bellsbank Road and Carsphairn Road.

A banned right turn will also be in place to prevent vehicles turning right from Merrick Drive, Bellsbank to Carsphairn Road during that time.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by these essential works.
