A HOTEL owner has hit out at dog owners who are leaving ther dogs poo right outside her business’s front door.

Jane Jardine who runs the Westcliffe Hotel near Girvan’s beach front is fed up having to go out and pick up dog mess before an unlucky guest stands on it.

The hotelier has run the business for 52 years but says the dog fouling issue has never been worse after she had to go out and pick up mess three times in the space of one week.

A furious Jane told the Ayr Advertiser: “It always happens right at the door where my guests arrive.

“I caught one man on CCTV who was trying to look for a bag in his pocket. All he had to do was ring the doorbell and ask me for some water to clear it away.

“I had to go out the next morning to clean that up, then I went further down the road at the corner of the hotel and there was another one I had to lift up.

“It’s driving me mad especially that it’s right at the front of door, I’m lucky no one was using that door at the time.

“People are just too blooming lazy to bend down.

“I have to spend my time picking it up, it’s not fair.”

Jane is concerned that the amount of dog mess across Girvan is rife.

She also runs the tennis courts up at the Quay and finds it a major problem up there.

She added: “All the grass up there is covered in dog dirt, they just walk the dog up there at the tennis court so nobody can see them up there.

“It’s a mess. It’s just terrible.”

Jane is determined to fight back against the lazy owners and has sent out a warning that if her CCTV catches them, they will be reported.

She said: “My cameras will be on 24 hours. A lot of people don’t know I have cameras, but they will be photographed or caught on CCTV and then the footage will be sent to the council.”
