A Britain’s Got Talent winner has been drafted in to replace Susan Boyle in a special show.

Local star Jai McDowall will replace SuBo in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

The Scottish singer, from Tarbolton, 33, was brought in by producers after he was tried out against 2014 finalist Lucy Kay.

SuBo, from Blackburn near Edinburgh, pulled out of the show because of a scheduling clash.

McDowall won the national talent show on ITV in 2011.

He was signed by head judge Simon Cowell’s label SyCo but was dropped less than a year later after poor sales of his debut album Believe.

It is understood that Jai is ecstatic to be involved in the lineup and hopes to make it to the finale of the show.
