THOUSANDS of people are expected to attend the family-friendly Mudeford RNLI Fun Day next week.

Although the event is free to attend, 2018 saw an impressive £30,000 raised for the station which operates from Mudeford Quay and carries out approximately 60 rescues each year around the Christchurch Bay area, relying on donations to keep up their life-saving operations.

Williams Thompson’s sponsorship of the fun day will help the volunteers, who have played a significant part in the event’s longevity, ensure that it is as successful as previous years with a variety of activities and displays.

One of the event highlights is the raft race where teams compete in self-built rafts down the infamous Mudeford Run. RNLI volunteers will also be on-hand to answer any questions and perform lifeboat displays, whilst The Lightning Bolts army parachute display team will join the HM Coastguard helicopter for air displays.

There will also be an opportunity for families to see live entertainment provided by Hoburne Entertainment, explore a funfair and enjoy locally-sourced food and drinks.

As well as supporting these activities, Williams Thompson’s sponsorship will also contribute to the final sum of money raised for the station which the organisers hope will beat the record set in 2018.

Suzanne Kadziola, Practice Manager and Partner at Williams Thompson, said:

“We are always keen to increase our charitable efforts and sponsoring this amazing day was a no-brainer for us. Not only does the fun day raise vital funds for the RNLI, but it’s also a great day out for the family – so you’ll definitely find me there!”

Andy Denison, Mudeford Lifeboat Funday Committee Chairman, said:

“The Funday provides vital support for the Mudeford Lifeboat station and relies almost entirely on sponsorship from all areas, so I must extend our warmest thanks to the numerous event sponsors, such as Williams Thompson.”

Mudeford RNLI Lifeboat Funday occurs on Sunday 11th August 2019, 11am-6pm, at Mudeford Quay. Entrance is free and visitors can expect lots of refreshments as well as quayside entertainment. Find out more information by visiting: https://www.mudefordlifeboatfunday.co.uk/
