On his travels, he meets Horton, the kind hearted elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing the entire planet of Whoville and JoJo, a Who child sent to military school for thinking too many ‘thinks’.

Horton decides he must protect the speck of dust on a nearby clover, while at the same time protecting an abandoned egg left to his care by the lazy Mayzie la Bird, leading him to be ridiculed by the other animals and put on trial for insanity.

Only his loyal neighbour, Gertrude McFuzz, never loses faith in him and, eventually, the two fall in love.

Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos, free Horton, and restore peace and unity to the Jungle while at the same time weaving a lesson for the whole family he power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.

As if that wasn't enough, within the run the group will also bring a West End style 'relaxed' performance specially tailored for people with autism and additional requirements on Friday, August 2 at 2pm.

While the story remains the same, the production will feature softer stage lighting and sound effects - including removing pyrotechnics and loud noises - to cater to people with sensory sensitivities.

To join in the madness, head to the Pavilion on Thursday, August 1 and Friday 2 at 7pm, or catch the 'relaxed' matinee at 2pm on Friday 2and and a regular performance on Saturday 3.

Tickets are £16 for adults, and £12 for children – or £10 for the relaxed showing on Friday Afternoon. To book visit rhylpavilion.co.uk or call the box office on 01745 330000.
