A SUSPECT has been arrested after an alleged house break-in in Girvan.
It is believed the 31-year-old man targeted the home at St Andrews Court at around 11.20pm on Thursday, July 18.
Residents there reported the incident to police straight away advising a quantity of jewellery had been stolen.
The man fled from the house after snatching the items before police arrived and made local enquiries.
Officers in attendance managed to trace the man and at this time the stolen jewellery was recovered from him.
He was then arrested and charged.
Police held him in police custody before he appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, July 22 over the matter.
