Ayrshire charity Hansel is calling on local people who are looking for a unique leadership opportunity and a chance to share their skills to apply to join the charity’s board.

The social care and employability support provider is hoping to appoint a number of non-executive directors to its two boards, following the retirals of some of its long-serving Board members.

Hansel Foundation is the parent charitable organisation and the board meets four to six times a year to oversee the organisation’s governance and strategy.

The subsidiary charity, Hansel Alliance, is responsible for the delivery of services and employment of 450 staff. Its board also comprises non-executive directors and one executive director.

The organisation is keen to attract people with experience or an understanding of operations in areas including social care, social enterprise, finance, or communications.

Candidates would be expected to attend up to six board meetings in the year, and may also be invited to contribute through committee membership. Induction training would be provided.

Gerry Lindsay, managing director, said: “We have recently said goodbye to a few of our treasured board members due to retirement and we are keen to find the right people to carry on their outstanding work.”
