MEMBERS of Cumnock History Group will be providing a guided walking tour round the centre of the town later this month.

The Ayrshire town has a very rich historical past and going on the tour you will learn its connection with Robert Burns, Keir Hardie, Sir Walter Scott and even Pottery Joe.

The group is made up of history enthusiasts and researchers who share an interest in the history and heritage of the small town.

The walking tour lasts approximately two hours and will end for a cream tea at the 1906 in the Royal Hotel at the town square.

The event only has 10 spaces available so don’t delay.

The cost is a total of £8 which includes the cream tea and coffee.

Those attending are advised to meet at The Baird Institute on Lugar Street at 1pm.

Free parking will be available in the Tanyard.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 20.
