A MAN has been reported for allegedly obstructing a police search.

The man was alleged to be in possession of Class A drugs but tried to stop police searching him and attempted to escape them on a bike.

Police say the 29-year-old man was obstructing a drugs search on Saturday afternoon, July 6 at around 4pm.

Officers saw the the man trying to make off on a bike at an address in Ayr before trying to locate him where it is claimed he was carrying drugs.

A police spokesperson said: “The man was thereafter traced and became obstructive with officers before being stop searched and found to be in possession of a quantity of Class A controlled drugs.”

He was charged with alleged possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

The man was held in custody after being arrested and charged and taken to Ayr Police Station.
