A MAN has been jailed after thousands of pounds worth of drugs were found in Cumnock.

Derek Johnstone, 44, confessed to charges and was given eight months in prison after heroin and etizolam worth a street value of £3000 were discovered by cops.

On Friday 8th March 2019 officers from Cumnock Locality Policing Team (LPT) executed a search warrant a property in Townhead Street and discovered the drugs.

Sergeant Harvey of Cumnock LPT said: “We welcome the sentencing. Locality Policing Teams across East Ayrshire are committed to addressing community concerns.

“Drug dealing and drug misuse remain a top priority and the result from this case continues to show that with help from our communities, we can build cases against those involved in this behaviour and bring them to justice.
