A MAJOR New Cumnock gas leak is continuing to shut down busy roads in the area.
It comes over 24-hours after repairs began near New Cumnock Lochside Hotel.
Traffic Scotland have confirmed closures will be in place on the A76 until at least Thursday.
The busy road has been shut off in both directions as Scotland Transerv try to fix the issue.
A local two mile diversion is being put in place.
It is not known at this time what caused the leak.
A spokesperson for the maintenance team said: "A76 New Cumnock Loch View Hotel road is closed in both directions due to Gas Leak."
"The A76 will remain CLOSED in both directions around Lochside House Hotel, New Cumnock until THURSDAY at least This is for @SGNgas to carryout emergency repairs on a gas leak. A local diversion is in place."
