SOUTH Ayrshire Police have been going round local schools promoting the importance of road safety.
Officers visisted students at Girvan Academy which followed on from the same event at Queen Margaret Academy in Ayr last week and is part of the ‘Road Safety Joint Action Group’ plans to promote road safety.
Students were able to engage with Police, Fire Service, British Transport Police, The Camera Safety Partnership, South Ayrshire Council Community Safety and Ayrshire Roads Alliance.
Safer Communities officer PC Mark Wason said “The engagement between the students and ourselves and partners over the last two events has been fantastic and I think they were all able to take something away from the events. Each of the partners brings a different perspective on road safety and there is a real focus on providing interactive tools to students to help improve the safety of South Ayrshire roads”.
