A DRONGAN lad has proved himself unstoppable after beating an undefeated boxer in his ‘most challenging fight’ yet.

Neil McCubbin, 20, made his community proud again as he brought home another win in the ring.

The apprentice spray painter faced the skilled Marius Vysniauskas in four tense rounds before claiming the victory at the Lagoon Centre in Paisley.

Although he only started his pro boxing career in 2018, Neil is already on his way to being a famous fighter.

The athlete had a taste for success even before his professional career as he scooped Scottish amateur titles before moving into British divisions.

Neil said: “It was a great feeling to win again I worked really hard for it so it’s good it paid off.

“It was really a really challenging match the guy I was up against was unbeaten and fought at a really high level in the amateurs.

“It made it a fantastic feeling though when I won because I worked so hard for it.

“I’m really enjoying boxing I love it and training is going really great.

“I’ve won every fight I have had so far and hopefully I can just keep winning.

“My next fight is in September so I’m just preparing for that now.

“It has been quite hard to balance training and boxing with working full time and my personal life.

“It all builds up sometimes but it’s definitely worth it and I don’t want to give it all up any time soon.”

Kynoch Boxing Scotland said “McCubbin Marches On.

“Flyweight prospect Neil McCubbin emerged the victor in a cracking four round contest against fellow unbeaten pro Marius Vysniauskas on Saturday night.

“Neil was forced to work hard throughout in what was one of the most entertaining contests on the undercard.

“The reward: progressing to 4-0 and securing a slot on our prestigious Saturday 14th September promotion at the five star Trump Turnberry Resort.”
