A MAN has been fined £900 for being in possession of cocaine in Ayr.
Iain Conway of Whiteside Terrace in Prestwick was found with five bags of the Class A substance on him on March 11 at an address at George Street in Ayr.
The 31-year-old was in possession of 15.3 grams of the drugs, with an estimated street value of £500. His defence counsel Mr Steven Maxwell told the court: “He was stopped as he left the locus by police.
He tells me this has been something of a wake up call. He tells me he is not in use of this drug.”
Sheriff John Montgomery ordered a fine of £900 to Conway who has been given three months to pay
