AN Ayr man has denied engaging in sexual activity with his private parts on a train in front of children.

John Calderhead, 53, of Ayr’s Mill Street faced a charge of intentionally engaging in sexual activity in the presence of four females – two of whom were aged 12 and 13 – by repeatedly handling his private parts while making remarks about them on November 12, 2017 while travelling on a train between Irvine and Johnstone.

Calderhead pled not guilty to the allegation when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, May 30.

The case was adjourned for reports and he will return to court at a later date.
