SOUTH Ayrshire Council are well on track to restoring empty homes across the area and ready for people to live in.
Recent figures have revealed they have more than exceeded their targets for bringing private properties that are lying empty back into use for the period 2018- 19 with 37 homes set to be occupied, almost double the target of 20.
South Ayrshire Council is committed to providing around 1,000 new affordable homes to be delivered over five years.
The council offer interest free loans of up to £20,000 for the owners of empty properties to carry out repairs and refurbishments for properties rented at affordable rates.
There is also an option for owners to carry out repairs and then pay back the loan when they sell their property.
