STAFF who sell alcohol at work could lose their personal licences if they don’t renew this month.
Any licences issued on or before September 1, 2009 need to be renewed by May 31, South Ayrshire Council has warned – with them due to expire on August 31. If people miss the deadline they could lose the right to sell booze on their premises.
A council statement said: “If the licence holder is a premises manager it is doubly important since all premises must have a manager with a personal licence before they can operate.
The council’s licensing standards officer Catrina Andrew has sent out reminder letters to more than 520 people to take action.
People are urged to contact the council’s licensing board or visit: www.south-ayrshire.gov.
